The people of Regina—Lewvan elected Erin Weir in 2015 as their Member of Parliament.

Erin came to the job as nationally respected expert on the economy, well-known media commentator and dedicated public servant. He’s a strong and informed voice for Regina.

Having worked in the federal public service at the Department of Finance and Treasury Board, Erin continued his career as an economist advocating for working families at the Canadian Labour Congress, the International Trade Union Confederation and the United Steelworkers.

Erin has also served on the national board of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives—and as President of the Progressive Economics Forum, pulling together 200 economists who comment on public policy.

Politically, Erin worked closely with the last three New Democratic premiers of Saskatchewan. And in 2012, Erin ran for leader of the Saskatchewan NDP.
